MENTONE — Brain Washed ’70’s, a multi-service tie dye shop located at 117 W. Main St., Mentone, held its ribbon cutting ceremony and grand opening celebration on Saturday, March 11.
Shop owner and artist Zoe Bella stated, “We offer tie dye services, sewing supplies, sewing machine repair, I’m trying to give the ladies out here (Mentone) an option.”
“We’ll kind of be a gift shop too; I travel all over the midwest and I meet all these artists and interesting people on the road and I want to try to bulk buy their stuff so I’ll have a lot of different things in here,” she added.
Bella decided to open up a physical shop after being a mobile shop for nearly eight years. “I used to tour with The Grateful Dead, probably since 2015, and take my shop out. I was traveling by myself and it was just too much; this shop is what remains of it and what will hopefully survive.”
The grand opening celebration, open to the public, followed the 5 p.m. ribbon-cutting ceremony is expected to last until 11 p.m.
There is live music, food and drinks for those that attend with a small expense to cover event costs.
