WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly battering two people.
Daniel Ramirez, 40, 340 E. Levi Lee Road Lot 191, Warsaw, is charged with two counts of domestic battery with a child under 16 present and domestic battery resulting in moderate bodily injury, all level 6 felonies; and two counts of domestic battery, both class A misdemeanors.
On March 5, officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office and Warsaw Police Department responded to a domestic incident at a Warsaw residence.
Officers saw Ramirez, who said nothing happened. The officers detected a strong smell of alcohol coming from Ramirez and took him into custody.
According to court documents, a woman said Ramirez drank alcoholic beverages, became irate and screamed in her face. Ramirez then allegedly grabbed the woman’s hair and dragged her around, causing her to fall. The woman was holding a handful of loose hair from her head when officers arrived.
A child at the scene said they attempted to separate Ramirez and the woman when Ramirez hit them on the right side of their face. Officers noticed the child had red, swollen marks on their face.
A nearby individual said they heard Ramirez yelling at the woman and also heard a loud noise.
Four other children were in the home when this incident occurred.
Ramirez was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail March 5, with a $6,000 surety and cash bond.
