WARSAW — A Winter Storm Warning has been issued for Kosciusko County from noon Friday, March 3, to midnight Saturday, March 4.
According to the National Weather Service of Northern Indiana, wet, heavy snow is expected. Isolated thunderstorms are also possible.
Total snow accumulations will be 4 to 8 inches, with isolated higher amounts around 10 inches possible. Winds will gust as high as 45 mph.
Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact the evening commute. The combination of gusty winds and heavy, wet snow could bring down tree branches and lead to power outages.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency.
Other counties in the area under a Winter Storm Warning include Elkhart, Fulton, Marshall, and Noble Counties.
Wabash and Whitley Counties are under a Winter Weather Advisory from noon Friday, March 3, to midnight Saturday, March 4.
In these counties, total snow accumulations of 2 to 5 inches are possible.
