Larry D. Arven, 83, rural Rochester, died at 4:25 a.m. Sunday, Feb. 19, 2023, at his residence in Rochester.
Larry was born March 22, 1939, in Rochester, to the late Victor and Virginia (Knott) Arven. He married Mary Craft on March 26, 1961, in Rochester; she survives.
He retired from Torx, formerly Indiana Metal, of Rochester after 43 years. He was a longtime member of Pheasants Forever. He loved to hunt and fish. He enjoyed all kinds of fishing. He loved ice fishing and fishing on the river, but especially loved fishing at his pond. He loved to maintain his pond and ride UTVs.
He is survived by his wife Mary Arven, Rochester; children, Brent (Stephanie) Arven, Rochester and Virginia (Doug) Clampitt, Atwood; grandchildren, Brandon Arven, Andrea (Roger) Reed, Bradlee Arven, Noah Clampitt and Neil Clampitt; and great-grandchildren Audrey Arven, Sadie Reed and Cora Reed.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Victor and Virginia Arven; sisters, Carol Sundheimer and Linda Whetstone; and brothers, Victor Arven Jr., Elbert Paul Arven and Dick Arven.
Following his wishes, no services will be held.
The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron.
