WARSAW — An Elkhart man was sentenced to three years in the Indiana Department of Correction after he revealed his intent to engage in sexual relations with two children.
Devin Michael Brown, 26, 29720 Connecticut Ave., Elkhart, was charged with one count of child solicitation, a level 5 felony.
Brown was sentenced in Kosciusko County Superior Court I Thursday, Feb. 16.
“The fact is, you made a plan and you took significant steps to execute that plan. … There’s a price to pay,” Judge Karin McGrath stated.
McGrath sentenced Brown to three years in Indiana Department of Correction and three years on strict probation.
Brown is also expected to register as a sex offender upon his release.
An investigation into a tip Warsaw Police Department received on Oct. 7, 2021, from a person involved with Predator Catchers, Inc. led to the Jan. 14 arrest of Brown.
Brown was having inappropriate correspondence with what he believed to be a 13-year-old child and was reported when he went to North Pointe Cinemas under the impression he would be having sexual intercourse with the 13-year-old and a 7-year-old child.
Brown purchased three tickets to see a movie, two of which he admitted were supposed to be for the children, and revealed he had condoms in his pocket at the time.
