Dolores K. (Marvel) Kring
Dolores K. (Marvel) Kring, Bremen (formerly of Nappanee), passed away at 4:50 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 13, just one day after her 83rd birthday.
The beloved mom, mother-in-law and grandma is now with Jesus. She is no longer bound by her failing body.
Dolores was born on Feb. 12, 1940 in Hammond to Willard and Martha (Fuller) Marvel. She is survived by her two daughters, Ronda Balsley (Ron) Heyse and Miranda Lutes, both of Bremen; and a son, Dwight (Marlana) Evans Jr. of LaPorte. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren: Ryan Balsley, Rodney Balsley, Trevor Lutes, Corrina Correll, Scarlet Evans, Malakai Evans, Keagan Heulat and Aleksandra Milan; a sister, Loretta Null of Florida; and a brother, Lonnie Marvel of Tennessee.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Willard Devon Marvel of Florida and Norman Marvel of Missouri; and one sister, Donna Huff of Floriday.
Dolores K. (Marvel) Kring worked as a sprayer and inspector at Viterous (VITCO) in Nappanee and retired after 33 years with the company. She grew up and attended school in Nappanee until she moved to Bremen and married in 1967. In the early 80’s she moved back to Nappanee and lived there until the last 3 years of her life, which she spent at Signature Healthcare in Bremen.
Dolores K. (Marvel) Kring was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved sitting in her backyard in Nappanee, watching the birds and squirrels eat the food she put out for them. She loved nature and trees held a special beauty for her. She enjoyed garage sales and would watch crime drama shows, discovery channel and swamp people for hours. She was an awesome cook and made the best homemade beef and noodles in town.
Dolores K. (Marvel) Kring attended church faithfully until she fell ill.
Visitation will be held from noon to 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, at Thompson-Lengacher & Yoder Funeral Home, Nappanee.
A funeral service will begin at 2 p.m. with Pastor Jared Kratzer of Bremen Church of God officiating. Burial will follow in Union Center Cemetery, Nappanee.
Memorial contributions in Dolores name can be given to the Bremen Church of God.
