Driver Arrested After Two-Vehicle Accident Near Warsaw Friday Evening

WARSAW — A Warsaw man sustained minor injuries and was later arrested after a two-vehicle accident on Friday evening.
At 6:47 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two-vehicle accident on North CR 100E, north of East CR 300N, Warsaw. A black 2004 Toyota 4Runner operated by Audelino G. Gomez Perez, 42, Warsaw, was traveling north on North CR 100E when his vehicle partially entered the southbound lane. Steven E. Thomas, 67, Warsaw, was traveling south in a gray 2017 Chevrolet Silverado at the time.
According to a KCSO accident report, Thomas attempted to avoid a collision, but Gomez Perez’s vehicle continued to get further into the southbound lane. A head-on collision occurred.
Gomez Perez sustained a minor head injury and was checked by medics at the scene. He was later booked in the Kosciusko County Jail for allegedly operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
Damages are estimated up to $50,000.
