Winona Lake Park, Police Departments Host Valentine’s Card Contest

WINONA LAKE — Local kids are welcome to participate in a Valentine’s Day card contest.
It’s being put on by the Winona Lake Limitless Park Department and Winona Lake Police Department. Kids ages 3-12 may submit creative, handmade Valentine’s cards through Monday, Feb. 6.
Winona Lake Police Chief Joe Hawn will select the top two cards from the following age groups: Ages 3-5, 6-9, and 10-12. These finalists will be posted on social media for the community to vote on Wednesday, Feb. 8. Photos will be posted to both the WLPD and WLLP Facebook pages.
The creator of the card with the most combined votes will go home with a grand prize. Prizes will be awarded to the top six finalists at 5 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 10, at the WLPD.
All submitted Valentine’s Day cards will be handed out to local police officers within the county after the contest.
Valentine’s submissions should be dropped off to the Winona Lake Police Department/Town Hall, 1310 Park Ave., or park office by Feb. 6. Upon drop-off, please provide the child’s name, parent or guardian’s name and a phone number.
