Jean Arlene Fisher
Jean Arlene Fisher, Warsaw, passed away at 3:02 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 2023, at Peabody Retirement Community in North Manchester at the age of 91.
She was born on March 30, 1931, in Huntington, as one of six children born to Mary Edith (Quinn) and Emerson Rittenhouse. On Aug. 29, 1946, at the young age of 15, she married the love of her life, Robert Daniel Fisher, in New Albany. They were blessed with five children, many memories created during their lives and celebrated 63 years of marriage before Robert passed away on Dec. 12, 2009.
She has lived in Kosciusko County for 50 years, where she and her husband founded Rocking R. Hobby Horse out of their home. For over 30 years they built children’s rocking horses that have been enjoyed by many. She loved gospel music, adult coloring books and always kept busy doing her many puzzles. Most of all she simply loved being a mom, and later in life she loved being a grandmother. She will forever be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She leaves behind two sons: Bob (Kay) Fisher, St. Cloud, Fla.; and Joe Fisher, Warsaw; two daughters: Roberta Sims, South Whitley; and Judy (Bobby) Stevens, Davenport, Fla.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband: Robert; son: Richard; two brothers; and three sisters.
Jean’s life will be celebrated with a service at noon Monday, Jan. 23, at Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, 225 Argonne Road, Warsaw, and officiated by Pastor Larry Sheets. Friends and family may visit prior to the service from 10 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Star of Hope Cemetery in Huntington.
