WARSAW — On Friday, Journey Nutrition, 2592 Walton Blvd., Warsaw, celebrated its first year of business with a birthday bash and a Kosciusko Chamber of Commerce ribbon-cutting.
Owner Sarah Moore said they specialize in protein shakes.
“We have our protein meal replacement shakes. They run around 24 grams of protein, around 250 calories, give or take. And then we have our tea bombs, which are a metabolism-boosting tea, with a B12 tablet in them, and then we flavor them up with sugar-free flavorings,” she said.
There are a “ton” of flavors from blueberry cheesecake to Nutter Butter and more.
Explaining how she ended up opening a smoothie and juice bar, Moore said, “I was frequenting one of these kind of stores for a while, and then I had a friend open up one of these, and so I decided to go in with her.”
After much discussion, Moore’s friend opened up one and Moore went to work for her.
“Loved it! So then after 1-1/2 to 2 years of being there, I opened up my own,” Moore said.
She sees a variety of people come into her shop.
“We have people who are on weight-loss journeys, people who are trying to gain some weight, we have people who come directly from the gym directly over in the other plaza – we have it all,” she said.
There’s even drinks for children.
“We’re just getting ready to launch a new kids’ caffeine-free line. There’s about 16 different kid-friendly drinks, and the shakes are great for them, too. We cut the protein in half so they get about the same amount of drink as an adult would, but less protein,” Moore said.
Journey Nutrition is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Moore said people can find them on Facebook, Instagram and Google under Journey Nutrition.
