UPDATE: Several Injured After Two-Vehicle Accident On US 30

PIERCETON — Several people received injuries in a wreck on U.S. 30 on Wednesday, Jan. 11.
It happened at 3:43 p.m. at East U.S. 30 south of East Van Ness Road outside Pierceton.
According to a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office accident report, Madelyn M. Prescott, 19, South CR 600E, Pierceton, was stopped at the intersection of Arnolt Drive and East U.S. 30 in a yellow 2002 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. She wanted to travel north across U.S. 30 onto East Van Ness Road.
Stephen M. Long, 37, North Johnson Road, Columbia City, was traveling eastbound on U.S. 30 approaching East Van Ness Road in a tan 2013 Cadillac XTS.
Prescott traveled into the intersection, failing to yield to Long’s vehicle, causing a collision. Long’s vehicle then hit a yield sign.
Prescott suffered an arm fracture/dislocation. Three passengers in her vehicle: Chandra L. Murphy, 23, East U.S. 30, Pierceton; Kendall L. Murphy, 4, East U.S. 30, Pierceton; and Kinsleigh R. Murphy, 1, East U.S. 30, Pierceton; all had minor face bleeding.
Long complained of arm pain. Damage was estimated up to $25,000.
