Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 2:34 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, South SR 13, north of South CR 675E, Pierceton. Driver: Aaron W. Hoover, 17, South CR 550E, Pierceton. Hoover’s vehicle wrecked onto its side. Damage up to $25,000.
- 8:32 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, West CR 350S, west of South CR 25W, Warsaw. Driver: Dale E. Hileman, 64, East CR 300S, Akron. Hileman’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:24 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, North SR 13, north of North Syracuse Webster Road, North Webster. Drivers: Rodrigo Jimenez, 21, H Lane, Elkhart; and Chase M. Zurbrick, 24, North SR 5, Pierceton. Jimenez’ and Zurbrick’s vehicles collided. Damage up to $10,000.
- 5:40 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, North CR 175E, south of East CR 450N, Warsaw. Driver: Maria E. Rodriguez, 56, Stratford Drive, Winona Lake. Rodriguez’ vehicle collided with a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 2:55 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, West Leigh Drive, west of North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Driver: Michael B. Bonewitz, 44, West Leigh Drive, Warsaw. Bonewitz’ vehicle backed into a parked vehicle. He said he couldn’t see the other vehicle due to foggy conditions. Damage up to $5,000.
- 10:21 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, East SR 14, east of South Packerton Road, Silver Lake. Driver: Stella M. Bradford, 50, South CR 100W, Silver Lake. Bradford’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 3:43 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, East U.S. 30, south of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Drivers: Madelyn M. Prescott, 19, South CR 600E, Pierceton; and Stephen M. Long, 37, North Johnson Road, Columbia City. Prescott failed to yield to Long’s vehicle, causing a collision. Long’s vehicle then hit a sign. Prescott injured her arm. Long complained of arm pain. Damage up to $25,000.
- 7:46 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, North SR 13, north of East CR 150N, Pierceton. Driver: Kelly A. Ducheteau, 45, West Tower Street, Pierceton. Ducheteau’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7:02 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, West U.S. 30 and North CR 650W, Warsaw. Drivers: Bettina D. Benson, 65, Hartzer Street, South Bend; and Teri L. Strieter, 34, North CR 425 E, Rolling Prairie. Benson didn’t realize that Strieter’s vehicle was in her blind spot and sideswiped Strieter’s vehicle. Damage up to $10,000.
- 5:04 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, South CR 890W and West CR 1200S, Akron. Driver: Krista N. Dillingham, 20, Mitchell Drive, Rochester. Dillingham believes the power steering went out on her vehicle. Her vehicle went off the roadway into a ditch and hit an embankment. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, West CR 200S, west of South CR 400W, Warsaw. Driver: Angela K. Frantz, 57, West CR 25S, Etna Green. Frantz’s vehicle hit a deer. Damage up to $2,500.
- 6:21 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, South County Farm Road, north of East CR 900S, Warsaw. Driver: Isaac L. Callaway, 21, South CR 700E, North Manchester. A deer collided with Callaway’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 4:41 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, North CR 200E, north of East CR 750N, Milford. Driver: Veronica Hernandez, 28, East Woodland Court, Leesburg. Hernandez’ vehicle hit a deer. She complained of shoulder pain from the airbag deployment, but refused EMS. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:51 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, South Packerton Road and Southtown Estates Drive, Winona Lake. Drivers: Anthony D. Jagger, 84, Sharon Street, Winona Lake; and Jennifer L. Payne, 48, Huffman Street, Winona Lake. Jagger’s vehicle drove left of center and hit Payne’s vehicle. Payne’s passenger complained of neck pain and checked out by medics. Damage up to $2,500.
- 1:59 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, West U.S. 30 and North Grandview Drive, Warsaw. Drivers: Seth A. Orcutt, 36, West Forest Avenue, Warsaw; and Donald R. Maxie, 53, Florida Avenue, Elkhart. Orcutt said he didn’t see Maxie’s vehicle and hit it with his. Maxie’s vehicle overturned. Damage up to $25,000.
- 1:28 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 222 E. Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Kay A. Andrews, 60, North CR 300E, Milford; and Stephen D. Lemler, 38, East County Line Road, Bourbon. Andrews didn’t see Lemler’s vehicle and backed into it. Damage up to $5,000.
- 8:08 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, North CR 675E, south of EMS T1 Lane, North Webster. Drivers: Unknown; and Thomas F. Bruce, 68, EMS T4 Lane, North Webster. Bruce said an unknown vehicle crossed over into his lane and hit his vehicle, leaving the scene of the accident. Damage up to $5,000.
- 5:23 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 7, East U.S. 30, east of East Van Ness Road, Pierceton. Drivers: Joshua E. Hall, 41, Tecumseh Street, Warsaw; and Rodney T. White, 49, Southcrest Road, Fort Wayne. Hall’s vehicle hit the back of White’s trailer. Hall complained of pain and was transported to the hospital. Hall’s passenger, Amy R. Hall, 39, Tecumseh Street, Warsaw, was killed in the wreck. Damage up to $100,000.
- 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 6, 8345 S. SR 19, Akron. Driver: Joshua K. Conner, 37, East CR 650N, Rochester. Conner didn’t see a light pole and turned into it while driving in the Tippecanoe Valley High School parking lot. A passenger in his vehicle had just taken off his seat belt and hit his head on the windshield. He was to get medical attention later. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:14 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 5, West Old Road 30, west of North CR 800W, Warsaw. Driver: Clint R. Beldon, 51, East Sunset Drive, Bourbon. Beldon’s vehicle swerved to miss another vehicle, causing his vehicle to spin and go into a ditch. Damage up to $2,500.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 6:23 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, East Chicago Street east of SR 13, Syracuse. Drivers: Caryl R. Schwaller, 53, EMS T16 Lane, Leesburg; and Emily M. Rodes, 25, East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Schwaller’s and Rodes’ vehicles collided. Damage up to $5,000.
- 8:06 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, South Huntington Street, south of East Pickwick Drive, Syracuse. Drivers: Erica R. Davidson, 23, Martin Avenue, Elkhart; and Michael J. Arias, 63, Cobus Woods Court, Elkhart. Davidson’s vehicle rear-ended Arias’. Damage up to $1,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 7:52 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, East Center Street and South Scott Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Dawn R. Newsome, 59, Brookview Avenue, Warsaw; and Anirudh Sivakumar, 31, Collins Drive, Warsaw. Newsome didn’t see Sivakumar’s vehicle and hit it while turning. Sivakumar hurt his left hand, but declined EMS. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:02 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, North Parker Street and East Center Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Samantha L. Garbison, 23, West CR 125N, Etna Green; and Sea A. Grandon, 48, Country Club Drive, Warsaw. Garbison’s vehicle hit the back of Grandon’s. Grandon complained of neck pain and was checked by medics. Damage up to $25,000.
- 12:37 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, East Market Street and South Lindberg Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Sierra N. Hall, 20, Bristol Drive, Wabash; and Fabiola Holsclaw, 36, North SR 15, Warsaw. Hall’s vehicle hit the back of Holsclaw’s. Damage up to $5,000.
