Carolyn Ann Zehner-Harrell — UPDATED
Carolyn Ann Zehner-Harrell, 84, Leesburg, died at 5:50 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2023, in Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw.
Born Aug. 24, 1938, in Muncie, she was the daughter of Virgil and Reba (Coulter) Gooding. Blessed to find love twice, Carolyn was married to Hubert Zehner. They shared many happy years before his death in 1983. She was later married to Dwight Harrell, sharing in life before his death in 2005.
She grew-up in the Muncie area, graduating from Muncie High School. Later, Carolyn moved to Kosciusko County where she was a member of Menzie-Reece American Legion Post 258 – Auxiliary, Pierceton, and volunteered at the Pierceton Senior Building for over 10 years. She attended Pierceton Baptist Church for several years, and Morris Chapel Church after she moved.
Carolyn loved her family dearly. She enjoyed a good crossword and putting together puzzles. The family remembers her for sewing clothing for them while growing up. She also made many projects by crocheting, quilting, knitting and making macrame’.
She is survived by seven children, Ellen (Justin) Shoemaker, Leesburg, Debbie (Dennis) Lawson, Talbert, Tenn., Brenda (Vern) Nelson, Mount Orab Village, Ohio, Randy Miller, Springfield, Ohio, Sandy (Rick) Dawson, Kingman, Karen (Ron) Morehouse, Lafayette and Judy (Rick) Birttles, Mio, Mich. She is further survived by 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and three siblings, John Gooding, Jay (Gloria) Gooding and Jerry Gooding. She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; parents; son Allen Zehner; and three siblings, Jack Gooding, Edwin Gooding and Marcia Jackson.
Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 2000 E. Sheridan St., Warsaw, is entrusted with Carolyn’s care. Friends and family may gather there from 2-5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 13, 2023.
