WARSAW — Several minor policy changes were approved during the Warsaw Community Public Library’s Board of Trustees meeting on Monday, Jan. 9.
The changes primarily focused on updated verbiage for staff titles and the removal of currently vacated library positions. WCPL’s emergency closings/delayed openings, holiday leave, library credit card, and employment policies were all updated. For the holiday leave policy, WCPL will close at 6 p.m. Nov. 22 and Dec. 31. These early closures are due to Thanksgiving and New Year’s Day.
In the treasurer’s report, Library Business Manager Renee Sweeny presented two resolutions to encumber $117,583 from the library’s operations fund and $20,500 from the rainy day fund for 2022. The board passed the resolutions.
Library Director Ann Zydek said about 200 people have signed up for WCPL’s Winter Reading Challenge, which is ongoing until Feb. 28.
Zydek also answered questions regarding the statewide Overdrive consortium. WCPL places anywhere from 11th to 15th in the state for the number of digital items checked out by patrons.
Following its regular session., the board held its annual board of finance meeting. Chris Merrill and Ben Rice were re-elected to the financial board as president and secretary, respectively.
During the meeting, Sweeny delivered the 2022 investment report and WCPL’s investments policy, which had no changes, was reviewed.
WCPL’s Board of Trustees’ next meeting is at 4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13.
