WARSAW — The annual community Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. luncheon will be later this year.

Pastor Bryan Lowe, who’s involved with the Committee to Commemorate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., which organizes the annual event, confirmed that information to InkFreeNews in an email on Monday, Jan. 9.

“We are looking at a summer date but have yet to settle on the date as of now,” he said.

Lowe noted the committee was “excited” about Grace College’s event commemorating the legacy of King to be held Tuesday, Jan. 17, the day after Martin Luther King Jr. Day. The public is welcome to hear Freedom Rider Charles Person speak during Grace’s chapel service beginning at 10:30 a.m. at the Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.

“We love that our partnership with Grace has led them to start their own event in the community and feel like this is part of what the CCMLK was meant to do: inspire others to care, reflect and the act on the dream and lIfe of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. By this, it creates more opportunities for our community to focus on the message of Dr. King,” said Lowe.
