Snyder Arrested After Driving Vehicle Under Influence While Child Present
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was arrested after allegedly driving under the influence while a child was in his vehicle.
Jonathan Tyler Snyder, 32, 1755 Rozella Road No. 2, Warsaw, is charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a minor passenger in the vehicle and neglect of a dependent, both level 6 felonies.
On Dec. 21, 2022, a vehicle accident occurred at the Winona Avenue and Columbia Street intersection in Warsaw. During the crash investigation, it was determined that a 2022 green Ford Explorer drove left of center, then left the roadway and hit a tree. Snyder was driving the Explorer and a child was a passenger in the vehicle.
According to court documents, responding Warsaw Police officers noticed Snyder was exhibiting signs of intoxication. He failed several sobriety tests and a search warrant was obtained for Snyder’s blood.
While at a local hospital, Snyder provided a sample on a portable breath test machine that registered a 0.205 BrAC. With that level, side effects may include total mental confusion and possible blackouts.
Snyder was previously convicted of operating a vehicle with a specified amount of alcohol 0.08% or greater, a class C misdemeanor, in Kosciusko County in December 2014.
Snyder has been released on bond.
