Charles Alexander Sweeney Jr., 84, died at 8:21 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28.

Charles, known to most as Charlie, was born Oct. 7, 1938.

He married Georgianna (Holmes) Sweeney on June 17, 1961. She preceded him in death.

He is survived by six children, Kelley Sanders (Gary), Denver, Colo., Mary Eugster (John), San Francisco, Calif., Susan (PJ) Stoll, Attica, Tom (Bridget) Sweeney, Southland, Texas, Maureen (Adam) Spielman, River Forest, Ill. and Kerry (Pete) Kuzmich, River Forest, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; and six sisters and two brothers, Beverly (Jim) Crance, Barbara (Al) Belkin, Peggy Sweeney, Susie Evans, Kate (Carter) Henrich, Sheila (Craig) Allen, Mike (Joyce) Sweeney and John (Terri) Sweeney.
