Area Accident Reports
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 4:34 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, North Lincoln Street, near East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Angela N. Metz, 42, West Center Street, Warsaw; and Braxton J. Byrer, 18, North Johnson Street, Warsaw. Metz was traveling east on East Main Street when she did not notice a stop sign. She drove into the path of Byrer’s vehicle, which was traveling north. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $50,000.
- 2:45 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, North Hickory Street, north of East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Merle R. Bryant, 86, Hawthorne Drive, Princeton. Bryant was attempting to turn south onto North Hickory Street when he turned his vehicle too wide and hit a train. Bryant said he saw the train but did not realize he had turned his vehicle so wide. The train was moving at about 10 mph at the time of the accident. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $25,000.
- 1:03 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, North SR 15, near Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Amber N. Hunsberger, 31, US Highway 6, Syracuse; and Heather Carty, 48, North CR 100E, Warsaw. Hunsberger and Carty were both traveling north on SR 15 when Hunsberger’s vehicle rear-ended Carty’s. Carty complained of neck pain but declined treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
- 6:36 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, SR 15, south of West CR 250N, Warsaw. Drivers: Joyce E. Garman, 74, West Country Drive, Leesburg; and Nicole L. Poucher, 43, EMS B51A Lane, Warsaw. Garman’s vehicle hit the back of Poucher’s. Damage up to $5,000.
