Bill Sworn In As WL Reserve Officer

WINONA LAKE — Jacob Bill is the newest reserve officer for the Winona Lake Police Department.
Bill was sworn in at the Winona Lake Town Council meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 20.
He was hired as a deputy marshal for the Mentone Police Department in April, with him to continue that role along with the Winona Lake one.
Prior to that, he worked for the Indiana State Police and the Bourbon Police Department. While with the ISP in 2019, he assisted Winona Lake officers David Swain and Joe Bumbaugh with rescuing a child from a pond near Winona Lake.
Bill also served in the Air National Guard and was an EMT. He grew up in Warsaw, attending Warsaw Community High School.
He and his wife live in the Warsaw area.
