Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 7:33 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, North East Wawasee Drive, south of East CR 1400N, Syracuse. Driver: Magdeline A. Weaver, 33, South Cavin Street 1, Ligonier. Weaver was traveling north on North East Wawasee Drive when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 2:14 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, East US 30, west of South SR 13, Pierceton. Driver: Jason A. Carnes, 40, North Cherry Street, Hartford City. Carnes was traveling east on US 30 when the front left wheel of his vehicle came off. Damage up to $2,500.
- 1:14 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, South Packerton Road, south of East CR 700S, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. A vehicle registered to Alan Murillo, Elkhart, was found off the roadway to the right of Packerton Road. Its driver left the scene. Damage up to $2,500.
- 10:33 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, West CR 600N, north of North Old SR 15, Warsaw. Driver: Lucas E. Hamann, 27, 4th Street, Colona, Ill. Hamann was traveling east on West CR 600N when his vehicle left the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 9:28 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, South Packerton Road, near East CR 400S, Warsaw. Driver: Jamison D. Wyatt, 18, South Buffalo Street, Warsaw. Wyatt was traveling north on Packerton Road when his vehicle slid and left the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, South SR 25, west of South CR 600W, Mentone. Driver: Tamara L. Rose, 54, West SR 25, Mentone. Rose was traveling on SR 25 when her vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree head-on. Damage up to $2,500.
- 7:58 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, North Zimmer Road, near West Lake Street, Warsaw. Driver: Savannah A. Shepherd, 19, Mars Drive, Elkhart. Shepherd was traveling east on West Lake Street when her vehicle slid on ice and hit a concrete median at an entry to a roundabout. Damage up to $2,500.
- 7:57 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, West Old Road 30, west of West Lake Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Brian A. De La Cruz, 22, West CR 300N, Warsaw; and Gary R. Howell, 70, West CR 200N, Warsaw. De La Cruz was traveling east on West Old Road 30 when he rear-ended Howell’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $25,000.
- 7:31 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, North Fox Farm Road, near West Lake Street, Warsaw. Driver: Steven A. Lane, 34, Logan Street, Warsaw. Lane was traveling south on Fox Farm Road when his vehicle left the roadway and slid into the roundabout. Damage up to $2,500.
- 6:20 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, West Old Road 30, near West CR 100N, Warsaw. Driver: Sue L. Shively, 81, North CR 350W, Warsaw. Shively was traveling east on Old Road 30 when her vehicle left the roadway and hit a guardrail. Damage up to $5,000.
- 6:11 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, East US 30, west of East CR 250S, Pierceton. Driver: Elias C. Cruz Hernandez, 43, East Stalf Road, Columbia City. Cruz Hernandez’s vehicle was traveling on East US 30 when his vehicle left the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 5:57 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, South SR 15, south of West Union Street, Warsaw. Driver: Seth D. Hamman, 39, West CR 525S, Claypool. Hamman was turning north onto South SR 15 when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a fence. Damage up to $2,500.
- 5:41 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, North Syracuse Webster Road, south of East CR 1200N, Syracuse. Drivers: Mark R. Katzer, 66, East Beer Road, Milford; and Sara M. Timmins, 17, East Defreese Road, Syracuse. Katzer was traveling south on North Syracuse Webster Road when he stopped at the stop sign at the East CR 1200N intersection. He then entered Timmins’ path of travel. Timmins complained of lower wrist pain and said she would get checked at a local hospital on her own. Damage up to $25,000.
- 4:21 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, East US 30, west of South CR 900E, Pierceton. Driver: Genevieve A. Goldsmith, 19, 2nd Street, Winona Lake. Goldsmith was traveling east on East US 30 when her vehicle slid off the roadway and entered a ditch. Damage up to $5,000.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 7:12 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, South Main Street, south of West Effie Mae Street, North Webster. Drivers: Gage J. Landis, 18, South Water Street, Jonesboro; and Tracy L. Gaunt, 59, South Mill Street, North Webster. Landis was traveling south on South Main Street when he rear-ended Gaunt’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Pierceton
Officers with the Pierceton Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 5:06 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, US 30 East, near CR 900E, Pierceton. Driver: Kyle J. Scher, 25, South Raber Road, Columbia City. Scher was traveling east on US 30 when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a fence at Phillips Tree Service, Pierceton. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 2:15 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, US 30, near Anchorage Road, Warsaw. Drivers: Vicki R. Semonis, 62, South Michigan Street, Argos; and Lindsey A. Corbett, 36, Sutherland Lane, South Bend. Semonis was traveling west on US 30 when she rear-ended Corbett’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:34 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, SR 15, near East Fort Wayne Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Jaiden E. Bush, 18, 6th Street, Winona Lake; and Fernando De Santos Macias, 34, Aspenwald Avenue, Elkhart. Bush was attempting to turn left to proceed west on East Fort Wayne Street when she pulled out in front of De Santos Macias’ vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $25,000.
- 10:17 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, Wexford Place, near Pioneer Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Victor Vuong, 34, Kuder Lane, Warsaw. Vuong was traveling north on Wexford Place when his vehicle left the roadway, hitting landscape rocks. Damage up to $5,000.
- 10:14 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 17, SR 15, north of Lyon Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Susan R. Heckaman, 61, South Country Club Road, Warsaw; and Janet Chavez, 35, South Washington Street, Warsaw. Heckaman was traveling north on SR 15 when her vehicle merged into Chavez’s lane of travel. Heckaman hit Chavez’s vehicle and continued north. Heckaman was later arrested for leaving the scene of an accident. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
- 9:56 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, US 30, near East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Hyun J. Roh, 29, Kenny Road, Columbus, Ohio. Roh was traveling west on US 30 when his vehicle slid and left the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $25,000.
- 9:06 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, US 30, east of East Center Street, Warsaw. Driver: Briane A. Hardin, 35, Baxter Street, Fort Wayne. Hardin was traveling west on US 30 when his vehicle slid and left the roadway, rolling onto its top. Hardin said he hit his head during the accident and was treated by medics at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
- 8:25 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, SR 15, near Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Lizbeth L. Ahuatl, 30, East CR 200N 205, Warsaw; and Ann M. Littlejohn, 49, North Conner Court, Milford. Ahuatl was traveling south on SR 15 when her vehicle slid through the intersection and West CR 250N. As her vehicle slid through the intersection, Ahuatl’s vehicle was hit by Littlejohn’s. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $25,000.
- 6:46 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16, SR 15, near Jalynn Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Susan R. Puckett, 67, Delmar Court, Warsaw; and Todd M. Ryan, 55, Briar Ridge Circle, Warsaw. Puckett was traveling east on Jalynn Street when she failed to notice she was in the wrong lane of travel due to snowy conditions. Puckett disregarded a red light at North Detroit Street and was hit by Ryan’s vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage up to $10,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 11:55 a.m. Friday, Dec. 16, Kings Highway, east of Argonne Road, Winona Lake. Driver: Timothy R. Rogers, 56, Orchard Drive, Winona Lake. Rogers was traveling east on Kings Highway when he hit Nicholas Routenberg, 13, Winona Lake. Rogers and a witness said Routenberg ran into the roadway in front of him. Routenberg said he did look for traffic but did not see Rogers’ vehicle approaching due to a large tree being in his line of sight. Routenberg was taken to a local hospital by his parents after complaining of right leg pain and sustaining an abrasion to his right side. Damage up to $2,500.
- 6:29 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15, East Winona Avenue, north of Argonne Road, Winona Lake. Drivers: Paige N. Lantz, 17, Fall Creek Drive, Goshen; and Nicole M. Smith, 52, East Legacy Lane, Winona Lake. Lantz was traveling south on Argonne Road when she entered the roundabout and hit Smith’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
