Rochester Man Killed In U.S. 31 Accident

ROCHESTER — A Rochester man was killed in an accident on U.S. 31 on Thursday, Dec. 15.
According to an Indiana State Police press release, at approximately 7:27 p.m., the ISP and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department responded to a vehicle-pedestrian crash on U.S. 31 near CR 50E.
The preliminary crash investigation revealed that a 23-year-old Cincinnati, Ohio, man was driving a 2004 Toyota Highlander in the passing lane of southbound U.S. 31. Steven Patrick Biggs, 51, Rochester, was walking across the travel portion of southbound U.S. 31 when he was struck by the Toyota.
Biggs was pronounced deceased at the scene. The Ohio man was not injured.
The crash is still under investigation. Also responding to the scene were the Fulton County Coroner’s Office and Fulton County EMA.
