LEESBURG — Another candidate has filed to fill a vacancy on the Leesburg Town Council.
Amanda Brookins-Bibler has announced she’s trying to fill the seat being vacated by Republican Doug Jones. His resignation is effective on Saturday, Dec. 31.
She joins Darrin Lincoln in trying to be appointed to the position by Kosciusko County GOP Chair Mike Ragan. Normally a caucus would occur, but as there’s only one Republican precinct committeeman in the Leesburg area who could vote for a new person, Ragan is to appoint someone.
“I’m a lifelong resident of Leesburg,” Brookins-Bibler told InkFreeNews. She’s trying for the spot as she wants to help with “continuing the work” that’s already going on in town as well as helping with growth and anywhere needed.
She owns Compassionate Care Guardian Services, working as a legal guardian for 40 people plus a family member.
Brookins-Bibler is married to Brad Bibler, and they have six children and two granddaughters.
