Angel Michelle Roberts
WARSAW — A Pierceton woman was arrested on multiple charges after a traffic stop led to the discovery of drugs.
Angel Michelle Roberts, 23, 406 S. Washington St., Pierceton, is charged with dealing methamphetamine, a level 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, both level 4 felonies; possession of a syringe and resisting law enforcement, both level 6 felonies; possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; possession of methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a level 3 felony; and possession of paraphernalia with a sentence enhancement, a class A misdemeanor.
On Dec. 2, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy completed a registration plate check on a Chevrolet Blazer in Warsaw and discovered the vehicle’s owner was a suspended driver. When the deputy attempted to pull the vehicle over, its driver did not stop and passed a semi while in a no-passing zone.
According to court documents, the vehicle did not stop until a Silver Lake Police officer used stop sticks in the area of SR 15 and CR 600S. The vehicle hit the sticks and later stopped.
The vehicle’s driver was identified as Roberts. Two passengers were also in the vehicle at the time of the incident. Upon searching the vehicle, officers found 17 grams of methamphetamine, five grams of marijuana, multiple plastic bags, a loaded handgun, drug paraphernalia, and a hypodermic syringe.
Roberts initially said methamphetamine found in the vehicle’s front seat belonged to her, but later denied that statement.
Roberts is classified as a serious violent felon due to a prior conviction for dealing methamphetamine in Kosciusko County in January 2021. She also currently has a pending criminal case for methamphetamine and paraphernalia possession.
For this case, Roberts was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Dec. 2, with a $25,500 surety and cash bond.
