Ragan To Select Replacement For Leesburg Council Member

LEESBURG — Kosciusko County GOP Chair Mike Ragan is to choose a person to fill a vacancy on the Leesburg Town Council.
Council Member Doug Jones, a Republican, recently announced his resignation, which is effective on Saturday, Dec. 31.
Normally a caucus would be held to fill the spot. However according to information from Ragan, as fewer than two people would be eligible to vote in the caucus, he is to choose the replacement.
He will announce his selection at 3 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, at the Kosciusko County Clerk’s Office, 121 N. Lake St., Warsaw. People may apply for the position up to 72 hours prior to the appointment.
To qualify, they must live in Leesburg and be Republicans in good standing. Declarations of candidacy and statements of economic interests are available at the clerk’s office and should be notarized and given to Ragan.
