News Release
MILFORD — Fall story times are drawing to a close at Milford Public Library. In-person story times take place at 10:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays and are geared for children ages 3-6. This is a great opportunity to expose your children to the joy of reading, plus fun arts and crafts activities and a weekly snack. Story times happen downstairs in the meeting room across from the children’s department.
This week is the last week for fall story time and the theme is “Thanksgiving Feast.” And what would a Thanksgiving feast be without food? Please plan on bringing a snack to share with the group. Plan on having a blast eating together and sharing stories about food, family, fun and holidays. Please register for this event in the children’s department.
New DVDs
If you are looking for something besides football to watch after the big Thanksgiving meal, did you know the library gets new DVDs (and sometimes Blu-rays) in all the time? Just recently the library has added many new releases to the movie collection, including “Thor: Love and Thunder,” “Lightyear,” “Paws of Fury: The Legend of Hank,” “Bullet Train,” “Top Gun: Maverick” and so many more.
Besides movies, the library also has many different television shows on DVD available for checkout as well. Some of the most popular TV shows include “The Walking Dead,” “Yellowstone,” “Parks & Recreation,” “Chesapeake Shores,” “Call the Midwife” and “Game of Thrones.”
If children’s movies are more your thing, don’t worry, MPL has you covered. They have a wide variety of children’s movies available, everything from “Paw Patrol” to “Veggie Tales” to “Barbie” and more. Plus all your holiday favorites like “Frosty the Snowman” and “Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer.”
All movies and TV show DVDs may be borrowed for a loan period of seven days and can be renewed one time for an additional seven days. Overdue DVDs are fined 25 cents per day; however, in case of library closings (i.e. for holidays, bad weather, etc.), DVDs may be returned in the video drop box on the southeast side of the library. As long as the DVDs are in the drop box before the start of the next business day, no fines will be charged. This policy works the same for books.
Holiday Closings
Milford Public Library will be closed Thursday and Friday, Nov. 24-25, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The library will be open its normal hours of 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26.
