Officers Find 50 Pills During Traffic Stop; Warsaw Woman Arrested

WARSAW — A Warsaw woman was arrested on drug charges after officers found more than 20 grams of methamphetamine and 50 pills during a traffic stop.
Charlene K. Marshall, 51, 121 E. Main St., Warsaw, is charged with dealing methamphetamine, a level 2 felony; possession of methamphetamine, a level 4 felony; possession of a legend drug, a level 6 felony; possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; and possession of methamphetamine with enhancing circumstances, a level 3 felony.
On Oct. 6, an Indiana State trooper was traveling north on SR 15, near Leesburg, when he pulled a driver over for failing to signal a lane change in Warsaw. Additionally, officers received a confidential tip that the driver, later identified as Marshall, was in possession of about 21 grams of methamphetamine.
A K9 unit at the scene made a positive alert on Marshall’s vehicle. According to court documents, upon searching the vehicle, officers with ISP and the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office found two plastic bags containing three glass pipes with methamphetamine residue.
Officers also found a plastic pill bottle in Marshall’s bra. Inside the bottle, there were several different types of pills and a plastic bag containing 13.5 grams of methamphetamine. In total, officers found 20.1 grams of methamphetamine during the traffic stop.
A total of 50 pills were found on Marshall’s person and were identified as controlled substances and legend drugs available by prescription only.
Marshall told officers the methamphetamine belonged to someone else and that she was holding onto the drugs for the individual. She said she was on her way to pick up the person from Goshen.
Officers then obtained search warrants for Marshall’s two cellphones. Inside the phones, officers found conversations between Marshall and other individuals that are consistent with Marshall selling illegal drugs.
Marshall was previously convicted of dealing methamphetamine in November 2014 in Kosciusko Circuit Court. She was also convicted of chemical reagents possession in Elkhart County in August 2009.
Marshall has already been arrested and released on her own recognizance.
