WINAMAC – A plan to construct one of the world’s largest commercial solar energy systems in Northwest Indiana appears to be in limbo.
But that’s not quelching concerns.
The $1.5 billion plan, appropriately called Mammoth, would span an area almost as large as Manhattan, the New York City borough
But the plan has been slowed by the courts.
The group, Pulaski County Against Solar, opposes the plan for various reasons and at least one labor group has also expressed opposition.
In Winamac last week, a truck was seen with a mobile billboard blasting the proposal. The truck carrying the sign was apparently with the Rat Patrol, which is a union group that often mobilizes against certain projects.
