Halloween At MPL
This is the season to read some great “booooooo”ks. The library is full of some great creepy and spooky reads. They have numerous Halloween-themed picture books in the children’s area, including “Eek! Halloween” by Sandra Boynton, “Halloween Day” by Anne Rockwell and “Halloween Forest” by Marion Dane Bauer, to name just a few.
In the adult collection, they have plenty of festive books as well. Are you interested in making your own decorations? Check out “Artful Halloween” by Susan Wasinger or “The Monster Book of Halloween” by Matthew Mead. Or for some cute craft ideas for the whole family, why not try “Halloween Origami” by Ruth Owen. And don’t forget the holiday treats. Check out “Pillsbury’s Easy Halloween Cookbook” for some simple, fun, festive snacks.
And it’s also the season to dress up and enjoy some fabulous fall fun. While you’re out trick-or-treating on Halloween night, don’t forget to stop by the library. Library staff will be celebrating the season along with the rest of the community.
Come see your favorite library staff dressed in costume. What crazy costumes will you see? Visit them on Halloween to find out. Plus, what could be better than candy? Children who come to the library in costume can trick-or-treat for candy treats at the library, too.
So if you’re thinking about reading some spooky stories, or just want to show off your cool Halloween costume, let the library be part of your Halloween fun. The library is open 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31. So come trick-or-treat anytime during open hours. The staff can’t wait to see your fun and festive costumes.
Candy Bar Donations Still Needed For Halloween
Don’t forget — if you plan on donating full-sized candy bars for Halloween trick-or-treating at the library, they will need them before Halloween. Thank you all in advance. The library really appreciates the support of the community.
