Staff Report
WARSAW — Three people from Warsaw were arrested after a report of a fight that resulted in the discovery of drugs.
Mark Edward Young, 62, 602 S. Union St., Warsaw, is charged with possession of cocaine, a level 6 felony; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
Lisa Ann Withers, 43; and Steffan Allan San Filippo, 52, both of 602 S. Union St., Warsaw, are each charged with possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine, both level 6 felonies; disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor.
On Sept. 25, Warsaw Police officers responded to a fight in progress on South Union Street. Upon arrival, officers spoke with Young, the homeowner. Young said the two arguing parties, Withers and San Filippo, lived with him but had just left the area.
According to court documents, Young said the verbal argument between Withers and San Filippo turned physical when Withers hit San Filippo on the head while San Filippo attempted to kick the woman. Officers were then informed that Withers was at the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office to talk about the incident. Withers reported being in a physical altercation with San Filippo.
Young told officers that San Filippo had returned to the Union Street address. While searching the home for San Filippo, officers found drug paraphernalia in plain sight. Officers asked permission to search the home, to which Young, Withers and San Filippo all denied permission.
A search warrant was granted on Sept. 26. In the home, officers found drug paraphernalia, methamphetamine residue and two vials containing cocaine.
Young, Withers, and San Filippo have already been arrested and released on bond.
