Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 4:47 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, South SR 15, south of South Rosewood Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Raul Quintana, 30, East Rochester Street, Akron. Quintana was traveling north on South SR 15 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
- 4:35 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, North SR 15, east of West CR 1350N, Milford. Drivers: Amy J. Martin, 43, Woodridge Court, New Paris; and Haley P. Farmer, 25, Susan Drive, Schererville. Martin was traveling east on West CR 1350N when she failed to stop at a stop sign and hit Farmer’s vehicle. The stop sign was at the intersection of North SR 15. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $50,000.
- 8:34 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, East SR 14, east of South Packerton Road, Silver Lake. Drivers: Bradley S. Cormany, 40, North CR 350W, Columbia City; Dylan T. Marsillett, 18, West CR 950N, Nappanee; Nicholas A. Young, 42, Arundel Run, Fort Wayne; and Christopher L. Patrick, 56, South CR 700E, North Manchester. Cormany was traveling west on SR 14 and didn’t see stopped vehicles for Wright Tree Service in the westbound lanes. He swerved his vehicle, resulting in his vehicle leaving the roadway and turning onto its side. Cormany complained of wrist and leg pain but refused treatment at the scene. As Marsillett was slowing his vehicle for the tree service trucks, he was rear-ended by Cormany’s vehicle. Marsillett complained of nose pain but refused treatment at the scene. Marsillett’s vehicle then rear-ended Young’s vehicle. The trailer of Patrick’s vehicle was hit by Cormany’s vehicle during the accident. Damage over $100,000.
- 6:35 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, North Syracuse Webster Road, north of East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Driver: Adora S. Truex, 44, East CR 1050N, Syracuse. Truex was traveling north on Syracuse Webster Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
- 10:40 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 8, West US 30, east of North CR 650W, Warsaw. Driver: Kyle E. Bell, 36, South Harris Street, Bourbon. Bell was traveling west on US 30 when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a guardrail. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 10:52 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, Silveus Crossing, near Lake City Highway, Warsaw. Drivers: Paul L. Cline, 62, EMS B22 Lane, Pierceton; and Chae M. Fugate, 34, East Amhurst Lane, Warsaw. Cline was traveling south on Silveus Crossing when he rear-ended Fugate’s vehicle. Cline said he was slowing for a red light but was unaware of how close his vehicle was to Fugate’s. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:13 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 12, 628 Ross Ave., Warsaw. Driver: Lucina D. Collins, 32, South Detroit Street Apartment 360, Warsaw. Collins was backing her vehicle in a parking lot when she hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
