Warsaw Man Arrested For Making Threats
Staff Report
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly threatening two people while in possession of a firearm.
Jesus Orlando Menchaca-Salas, 32, 2545 W. 250S Lot 71, Warsaw, is charged with two counts of intimidation with a deadly weapon, both level 5 felonies; and two counts of pointing a firearm, both class A misdemeanors.
On Sept. 21, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy went to a home in Warsaw regarding a man with a handgun threatening people. A woman told officers she was asleep when she woke up to Menchaca-Salas pointing a handgun at her. Menchaca-Salas nonverbally told the woman to be quiet and directed her to the residence’s exit.
According to court documents, once outside, Menchaca-Salas confronted the woman about her relationship with a man, who was sleeping in the home. Menchaca-Salas threatened to kill the man and went back into the home. He placed his handgun to the man’s head and started questioning him, court paperwork said.
The woman started recording the incident with her cellphone and instructed a child at the home to call police. Two other children were in the residence during the incident.
Menchaca-Salas then left in a vehicle.
Officers reviewed the video the woman filmed. The video shows Menchaca-Salas in possession of a firearm.
Officers later found Menchaca-Salas’s vehicle in Warsaw.
For this case, Menchaca-Salas was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Oct. 6, with a $21,000 surety and cash bond. As a condition of his bond, Menchaca-Salas must surrender all firearms in his possession.
