AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. has been named a Riley Corporation for the fourth time.
TVSC Superintendent Blaine Conley noted the corporation had received the designation again from Riley Hospital for Children at the TVSC Board’s public work session on Thursday, Oct. 6, at Tippecanoe Valley High School.
That’s due to TVSC schools raising the equivalent of $1 per student for the hospital through various events.
“Just everybody knows somebody who has benefitted from going down to Riley, so we really appreciate our school and those student councils for doing those unique events for kids to have those chances to do some fundraising,” said Conley.
In other business, the board:
- Heard that the corporation is to receive a $26,000 donation from Bib’s Billford. The money was raised via the Sweet Sassy Golf Classic held in memory of late TVHS teacher and football coach Scott Bibler.
- Heard that bids for renovating and adding on to TVHS were to be opened at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, at TVHS. The public is welcome to come to witness that.
The board’s regular monthly meeting is set for 6 p.m. Monday, Oct. 10, at Mentone Elementary School.
