Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 3:29 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 5, West Old Road 30, east of North CR 750W, Atwood. Driver: Bret N. Gallo, 40, South Honeybee Court, Warsaw. Gallo was traveling west on Old Road 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
- 2:46 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, East CR 175N, east of North CR 175E, Warsaw. Drivers: Rodney A. Chiddister, 61, North Lighthouse Drive, Warsaw; and J.F. Medina Malagon, 66, Cardinal Drive, Warsaw. Chiddister was traveling west on East CR 175N when he rear-ended Medina Malagon’s vehicle. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
- 2:42 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, East CR 900N, east of North Old Road 15, Leesburg. Driver: Jerry L. Hostetler, 71, East CR 1250N, Milford. Hostetler was traveling east on East CR 900N when his moped went off the roadway. He was taken to Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital for cuts on his head and face. Damage up to $2,500.
- 7:19 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 1531 S. 400W, Warsaw. Driver: John W. Snodgrass, 71, Millers Drive 11, Mentone. Snodgrass was traveling west on West CR 150S when his vehicle left the roadway, hitting a road sign, fence, and tree. This caused damage at 1531 S. 400W, which is owned by Larry R. Landis. Snodgrass said his foot got caught while attempting to apply his vehicle’s brakes. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
Mentone
Officers with the Mentone Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 1:10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, CR 1000W, south of CR 700S, Mentone. Drivers: David B. Salyer, 55, East Rochester Street, Akron; and David A. Wilson, 17, South CR 1000W, Claypool. Salyer and Wilson were both traveling south on CR 1000W when Salyer rear-ended Wilson’s vehicle. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 9:59 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, US 30, west of North CR 200W, Warsaw. Driver: Camille D. Clark, 43, Mustang Corral Drive, Humble, Tex. Clark was traveling east on US 30 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $25,000.
- 4:05 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, Argonne Road, near East Market Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Sheri L. Pierce Shuster, 51, East CR 800S, Claypool; and Logan P. Miller, 35, South CR 900W-92, Pierceton. Pierce Shuster was traveling east on East Market Street and was attempting to turn when she hit Miller’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 5:39 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, East Fort Wayne and Indiana Streets, Warsaw. Drivers: Zhengtao Yu, 50, Brent Haven Court, Granger; and Duane Darland, Gilliam Drive South, Warsaw. Vehicle was struck as it pulled onto East Fort Wayne Street. Damage up to $5,000.
- 3:12 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, at the intersection of SR 25 and Tiger Lane, in front of Warsaw Community High School. Drivers: Kerri Ousley, 43, South County Farm Road, Warsaw; and Wanda Willard, 69, Rieder Street, Warsaw. Car was rear-ended as it stopped while turning south onto SR 15. Damage up to $5,000.
