Gary ‘Jay’ Warnacut
Gary “Jay” Warnacut, 71, Warsaw, died Monday, Sept. 26, 2022, at Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw.
Jay was born Feb. 19, 1951, in Plymouth, the son of (the late) David and Lucille (Meredith) Warnacut. He graduated from Plymouth High School with the Class of ’69 and went on to become the co-owner of Butterfly Records in Warsaw and owner of Lakeview Liquors in Silver Lake. On Aug. 15, 1981, Jay married Lana J. (Clifford) Warnacut in Clunette; she preceded him in death Nov. 22, 2017, after 36 years of marriage.
Jay enjoyed the time spent with his family and friends; he was an avid music lover, gardener, photographer and a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan.
He is survived by his son, Brian (Jamie Elder) Stalder, Warsaw; grandchildren, Jason Taylor, Fort Wayne and Vincent and Autumn Elder, Warsaw; sisters, Lara Warnacut and Linda Trago, both of Plymouth; and brother, Joe (Joyce) Warnacut, Virginia.
Memorial services for Jay will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 30, 2022, at McHatton Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court, with Rev. Bob Jarboe officiating. Visitation will be from 3-4 p.m. Friday, in the funeral home.
The family’s preferred memorial is the Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko Co. 1048 South CR 325E, Pierceton IN 46562.
