Officers with the Elkhart County Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 2:18 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 22, SR 19 and US 20, Elkhart. Drivers: Jessica Chapa, Goshen; Douglas Coddens, South Bend. Chapa and Coddens were eastbound on the US 20 ramp when an unknown vehicle failed to yield the right of traffic and entered the eastbound lane. Chapa braked to avoid collision and Coddens rear-ended her vehicle as he did not have time to stop. Chapa was transported to Elkhart General Hospital after reporting she was pregnant and experiencing back pain.
- 7:54 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, CR 6 and East of Ash Road, Elkhart. Drivers: Jennifer Luster-Bartz, 43, Elkhart; Sarah Jones, 44, Granger. Luster-Bartz was facing north at a private drive and pulled out onto CR 6, striking Jones eastbound vehicle. Passenger of Jones’ vehicle, Megan Jones, 20, Granger, was transported to Elkhart General Hospital for a laceration to her right hand.
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Department investigated the following accident:
- 10:51 a.m. 4690 E. SR 14, Rochester. Driver: Tina I. Vanspeybroeck, 59, Rochester. Vanspeybroeck hit a parked trailer in a yard, causing her vehicle to flip.
Officers with the Goshen Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 11:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 22, 2100 Lincolnway E., Goshen. Drivers: Unknown; Gary Base, 64, Cromwell. Base reported the other driver left the scene without providing information. No additional information available at this time.
