MILFORD — It is a perfect night and there is still time to come out to Milford for “Food Truck Friday.”
Things are happening in the downtown area on Main Street and in the town’s parking lot north of the Community Buildings. Food trucks and food booths are set up in the parking lot offering a variety of items from hot dogs to hamburgers, sweet corn, sugar pop donut holes, Mexican food, cup cakes, ice cream, pop corn, meat sticks and more.
Various vendors are set up on Main Street offering various pre-made arts and craft items, or make your own craft. There’s even homemade bread.
The food truck vary from month to month, so make sure to check out what is there tonight, because they may not be there on Oct. 21.
Food Truck Friday is organized by a group of four — Angie Deak, Sierra Clark-Kern, Karena Wilkinson and Tricia Gall. This event will take place the third Friday of each month and has grown by leaps and bounds since the first event in June. Plans are already underway for the October event, featuring the fall season, with music, dancers and a soup competition hosted by the Milford Kiwanis.
While the food trucks and craft vendors will be around until 8 p.m. the evening fun will continue with a family movie just up the street at the Milford Meeting House, 210 W. Catherine St., for a free outdoor movie “Peat’s Dragon.” Nonperishable food items will also be collected at that time and donated to the food pantry.
