Road Closures Announced For WL Roundabout Project
News Release
WINONA LAKE — The contractor for the roundabout being constructed at the border of Winona Lake and Warsaw has announced more road closures related to the project.
Phend & Brown announced on Tuesday, Sept. 13, closures affecting the project area of Kings Highway and Park Avenue in Winona Lake and Argonne Road and Winona Avenue in Warsaw.
The company said that starting on Thursday, Sept. 15, Kings Highway is to be closed and Park Avenue will become a one-way street heading south into Winona Lake.
The intersection will become a two-way stop indicated through stop signs and pavement markings. This will allow for the complete reconstruction of the Kings Highway portion of the new roundabout.
Kings Highway is expected to be closed for 4-6 weeks to perform this work. Traffic leaving Winona Lake will follow a detour route east on Ninth Street to College Avenue, north on College Avenue to Seventh Street and east on Seventh Street to Wooster Road and Kings Highway.
At Wooster Road and Kings Highway, the local detour will follow the designated truck detour east to CR 250E then out to US 30. It will then follow US 30 West to Center Street and back to Argonne Road.
Appropriate signage will be installed on Sept. 15. An alternate route is suggested to avoid delays.
