Valley Receives $100K Safety Grant
News Release
AKRON — Tippecanoe Valley School Corp. has been awarded a $100,000 grant to help with school safety.
It’s from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security as part of the Fiscal Year 2023 Secured School Safety Grant Program. The SSSG is a competitive and matching grant.
Of the 425 school district awardees, TVSC was one of only 70 eligible for and awarded the maximum grant award this grant cycle. This is the fifth consecutive year TVSC has been a maximum grant awardee.
In May 2021, TVSC conducted a district-wide threat assessment through Safe Havens International through the Fiscal Year 2021 Secured School Safety Grant. Through recommendations of the assessment and priority lists compiled by the TVSC Safety Team, the projects for 2022 are complete, and projects will commence immediately for the FY23 grant.
TVSC continues to be an honored recipient in this critical partnership to care for its schools, staff, students, families and community. All TVSC administrators have earned, with new administrators earning, the school safety specialist or advanced school safety specialist status as designated through the Indiana Department of Education’s School Safety Academy.
