Claypool
Officers with the Claypool Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 4:17 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, South Kinsey Road, south of West Hoppus Road, Claypool. Driver: Heather Sanders, 40, West CR 100S, Warsaw. Sanders was traveling north on Kinsey Road when a tree fell onto her vehicle. Sanders only sustained minor lacerations to her left hand caused by broken glass. Damage up to $25,000.
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 4:13 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, South SR 15, north of West CR 200S, Warsaw. Driver: Leonard E. Burns, 52, Inverness Point, Warsaw. Burns was traveling south on SR 15 when a tree landed on his vehicle. A large limb went through the vehicle’s engine compartment, all the way to Burns’ foot area. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
Milford
Officers with the Milford Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 4:24 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 24, North SR 15, near West CR 1350N, Milford. Drivers: William J. Menges, 43, Fenmore Avenue, Goshen; James M. Beer, 43, East Main Street Unit B209, Syracuse; and Scott A. Hultz, 59, South Johnson Street, Bluffton. Beer was traveling south and came to a complete stop to make a left hand turn onto CR 1350N. While stopped, Beer’s vehicle was rear-ended by Menges’. Beer’s vehicle was then pushed into the northbound lanes of SR 15, where he hit a trailer on Hultz’s vehicle. Beer complained of arm pain and believed his arm was possibly broken. He was taken to Goshen General Hospital. Damage up to $25,000.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 2:54 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, North Huntington Street, south of West High Street, Syracuse. Drivers: Patrick R. Czahor, 19, North SR 39, Winamac; and Miles J. Malstaff, 42, East Epworth Forest Road, North Webster. Czahor was turning south onto North Huntington Street when he rear-ended Malstaff’s vehicle. Damage under $750.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 4:21 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29, South County Farm Road, near Park Ridge Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Kimberly A. Busz, 32, East Main Street, Warsaw. Busz was traveling north on South County Farm Road when a tree came down into the roadway. Damage up to $2,500.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 1:36 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 28, Pierceton Road, west of East St. Andrews Drive, Winona Lake. Driver: Joseph L. McCall, 37, West Zims Court, Milford. McCall was traveling east on Pierceton Road and was attempting to pass another vehicle when his vehicle left the roadway, hitting multiple large pieces of pipe. The pipe pieces had been placed on the side of the road for an upcoming utility project. McCall then attempted to flee the scene on foot. He was taken for medical examination to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Damage up to $50,000.
- 12:33 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, 1 Park Ave., Winona Lake. Driver: Kenneth R. Clawson, 70, Highlander Drive, Warsaw. Clawson was backing his vehicle when his vehicle went over a curb, hitting a flag pole light. Damage up to $1,000.
