Wakarusa Motorcyclist Flown From Accident South Of Nappanee

NAPPANEE — A Wakarusa man was flown from a two-vehicle accident south of Nappanee on Thursday, Aug. 25.
At 4:36 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office responded to an accident on West CR 800N, near North CR 800W, Nappanee.
Joann K. Miller, 19, Akron, said she was stopped at the intersection of West CR 800N and North CR 800W, facing east. She was driving a silver 2002 Toyota Camry. Miller told officers she looked both directions before entering the intersection. However, she did not see a motorcycle traveling southbound, and Miller’s vehicle hit the motorcycle. The black 2010 Honda motorcycle was driven by Jared L. Grosswiler, 23, Wakarusa.
Grosswiler, who was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was flown from the scene to Parkview Regional via helicopter.
Damages are estimated at up to $50,000.
