Warsaw Police Investigating Multiple Thefts Involving Vehicles
Press Release
WARSAW — Warsaw Police are investigating two separate rashes of thefts from automobiles and vehicle thefts over the last two weekends.
Initial investigations have led officers to believe that these thefts are occurring with multiple suspects operating in the city of Warsaw, as well as in the county at the same time.
With this information, WPD would like to highlight a few reminders for the community:
- Please lock the doors of your homes and vehicles. While this won’t stop all thefts, it is still a deterrent in many opportunities where crime can happen.
- Be aware of your surroundings. If you see vehicles or foot traffic in your neighborhood that seems uncommon, please contact the police department so it may be investigated. These thefts have been taking place between the late evening and early morning hours.
- If you have surveillance cameras, please check them, specifically footage from between the late evening and early morning hours. Any video surveillance may be beneficial as WPD continues to investigate these crimes. Even if your residence was not involved, your camera may have picked something up. Contact WPD at (574) 372-9515 so they can get a copy of the surveillance.
Regarding the most recent crime spree, it appears to have affected areas west of downtown Warsaw and areas along Parker Street. Additionally, a vehicle was stolen from Kuder Estates and several vehicles were ransacked in the apartment complex’s parking lot. These suspects are targeting residential areas as well as apartment complexes. If you have any information that may be helpful, please contact WPD at the aforementioned phone number and ask for the detective division.
