Kentucky Man Arrested After Traffic Stop

FULTON COUNTY — A Kentucky man was arrested after a traffic stop at US 31 near Old US 31, Saturday, Aug. 20.
John P. Madden, 46, Evarts, Ky., was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, level 3 felony; dealing in marijuana, level 5 felony; possession of marijuana, class A misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, class C misdemeanor.
Fulton County Sheriff’s Deputy Mitch Scott conducted the traffic stop and believed there was potential criminal activity. He requested a K9 unit. Deputy Ryan Utter and K9 Rapid responded and conducted a free air sniff around the vehicle. K9 Rapid indicated the presence of the odor of illegal narcotics from the vehicle.
A search of the vehicle resulted in locating over 45 pounds of suspected marijuana, 17 grams of suspected methamphetamine, THC vape cartridges, THC honey and a loaded handgun.
Rochester Police Department assisted the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office at the traffic stop.
