Fun For Children At Milford Public Library
News Release
MILFORD — As the school year is just beginning, don’t forget about all the fun activities for children at Milford Public Library.
Right now in the children’s department, there is a fun “I Spy” bulletin board up for a fun “search and find” game at the library. Pick up a treasure hunt sheet from one of the library staff members and begin your search. Look high and look low because there are many fun things to spy on this interactive bulletin board. If you find all the hidden items, you can turn in your sheet for a prize.
Also this fall, the LEGO Crew Challenge is going live. The first Saturday of every month from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. MPL will be hosting an in-person LEGO club with the monthly creation challenge. Build the suggested challenge, or create your own LEGO creations with your friends.
LEGO Crew Challenges will still be offered online as well, and digital submissions will be accepted on the Facebook page or through email at [email protected]. Monthly winners will receive a prize.
Don’t forget story time is starting back up this fall as well. The staff will be offering in-person story times once again at Milford Public Library. Story time is geared towards children ages 3-6 and will be hosted at the library by various library staff members. Research has found that reading storybooks to children is one of the most important activities for developing the knowledge required for eventual success in reading — and bringing your children to story time is an excellent way to expose your child to reading and books.
Story times will be held at 10:30 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. Wednesdays beginning on Wednesday, Sept. 21. (Programs will be the same for both time slots- these are not separate events.) All activities are free and no library card is needed to attend. Register in the children’s department if you are interested in bringing your children to story time.It will be a fantastic time full of fun and stories.
Online Access to Chilton Library Through Milford Public Library
Whether you’re a shade tree mechanic or this is your first foray into DIY vehicle repair, MPL has got you covered with access to Chilton Library.
Chilton Library is the online version of the massive Chilton Repair manuals that we all know and (sometimes) love. And unlike the bulky manuals, the online Chilton Library is extremely easy to use.
Simply enter your vehicle’s make, model, and year into the drop boxes on the home screen and you can get all sorts of information. If you are looking at doing repairs, you can print off schematics, check out diagrams, or read repair instructions on a variety of topics.
If you are curious about maintenance practices, you can use Chilton’s handy estimator to help figure out a good maintenance schedule. Chilton Library even has a labor estimator and a list of vehicle recalls. Best of all Chilton Library includes both foreign and domestic vehicles and surprisingly, contains information on vehicles dating all the way back to 1901.
So if you are in the market to repair or maintain a car, truck, or SUV, check out the Chilton Library link on the Milford Public Library website. Then, sign in with your library card number and search away.
