Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist
Kosciusko REMC is Hiring a Full-Time Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist. The ideal candidate is skilled in supporting electric co-op mapping, Fiber to the Home (FTTH) outside plant operations, and outage management systems. We want a motivated, dependable team player with a positive attitude and above-average skills in communication. The candidate must take initiative and be able to work independently.
REQUIREMENTS:
• A Minimum of a two-year degree in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) or a related technical field is preferred. The right combination of education, field experience, and technical skills may be substituted for educational requirements.
• Prefer a general knowledge of GIS mapping, utility operations, construction of distribution facilities, information system technologies, and a working knowledge of the National Electric Safety Code.
• Must be able to maintain and support a Geographic Information System with staking, outage management system, automated vehicle location system, and mobile mapping.
• Proficiency with computers and software such as Microsoft Office is required.
• Proficiency with Asset Tracker, Project Tracker, ArcGIS, Futura, Geograph, Milsoft Dispatch, Clevest Workspace, Command Center, and UPN are highly desirable.
• Must prioritize accuracy and be detail oriented. Have the ability to organize and manage tasks and time effectively. Ability to consistently meet deadlines.
• Strong mathematical skills plus analyzing, interpreting, processing, and reporting data.
• General office environment and outside work in various weather conditions; on occasion, requires work over normal hours and during emergency power outage situations, as needed. Occasional meetings and events outside the normal workday.
• You must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
• You must have a valid driver’s license and live within 45 minutes of Kosciusko REMC.
