Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 10:04 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, West CR 900S, west of South CR 825W, Akron. Driver: Jamasyn K. Virgil, 18, West CR 900S, Claypool. Virgil was traveling west on West CR 900S when a dog entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, South CR 550W, north of West CR 100S, Warsaw. Driver: Erin M. Van Nest, 48, South Lake Street Apartment B., Warsaw. Van Nest was traveling north on CR 550W when her vehicle left the roadway and became stuck in a ditch. Damage up to $5,000.
- 4:29 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, South Ferguson Road, near West CR 250S, Warsaw. Drivers: Lacey M. Reyna, 19, South Oak Street, Warsaw; and Rebbecca S. Woodall, 30, West Section Street, Claypool. Reyna was traveling east on CR 250S when she stopped at Ferguson Road’s stop sign. She then proceeded into Woodall’s path of travel. Reyna complained of neck pain. A passenger in Reyna’s vehicle, Corinna M. Reyna, 18, Warsaw, sustained a laceration to her knee. A second passenger in Reyna’s vehicle, Malachi J. Reyna, 1, Warsaw, sustained minor cuts. The Reynas were all taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Woodall sustained minor hand injuries and a passenger in her vehicle, Gene H. Denz, 18, Claypool, complained of shoulder pain. Woodall and Denz refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
- 6:13 p.m. Sunday, July 31, East CR 600S, west of South CR 400E, Warsaw. Driver: Jared D. Pagan, 47, East CR 600S, Warsaw. Pagan was traveling west on East CR 600S when two passengers in his vehicle began fighting and started hitting him while they were fighting with each other. Pagan’s vehicle then left the roadway and entered a ditch for an extended period of time before he was able to re-enter the roadway. His vehicle then rolled onto its side. Pagan sustained a minor injury to his elbow and lower arm area. Two passengers in Pagan’s vehicle, Taylor A. Pagan, 25, Warsaw; and Myra S. Pagan, 45, Warsaw, sustained minor injuries to their knee, lower leg and foot area. A third passenger in Pagan’s vehicle, Jacob I. Pagan, 23, Warsaw, sustained a minor injury to his shoulder and upper arm area. All of the Pagans were checked by medics at the scene. Damage up to $25,000.
- 1:18 a.m. Sunday, July 31, West Lake Street, near North Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Driver: unknown. A person driving a black 2014 Cadillac XTS appeared to be traveling east on Lake Street when their vehicle left the roadway, coming to a rest on top of a roundabout. Upon officers’ arrival, there was no one inside the vehicle. The vehicle is registered to Luis A. Lara, Warsaw. Damage up to $10,000.
- 12:29 p.m. Saturday, July 30, West US 30, west of North Fox Farm Road, Warsaw. Drivers: William M. Omara, 62, West CR 100S 26, Warsaw; and Andrew J. Weingart, 31, West Indiana Avenue, Nappanee. Omara was traveling west on West US 30 when he attempted to cross over to the median in front of Weingart’s vehicle. Weingart said he did not see Omara traveling westbound. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $50,000.
- 12:11 p.m. Friday, July 29, EMS D13 Lane, south of East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Drivers: Susan P. O’Donnell, 79, West Wilkinson Street, Goshen; and Ginger D. Rhamey, 40, Elm Road, Tippecanoe. O’Donnell was traveling south on EMS D13 Lane and was traveling around a corner when her vehicle hit Rhamey’s. Rhamey was backing her vehicle from a driveway. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 10:39 a.m. Friday, July 29, East Pierceton Road, west of East Washington Road, Pierceton. Driver: Harvey L. Hayes, 79, South Zimmer Road, Warsaw. Hayes was traveling east on Pierceton Road when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
- 6:45 a.m. Friday, July 29, South SR 13, north of East CR 900S, Sidney. Driver: Craig E. Marvel, 57, Speedway Woods Drive, Indianapolis. Marvel was traveling north on South SR 13 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $25,000.
- 4:36 a.m. Friday, July 29, West Anglin Road, west of North SR 19, Nappanee. Driver: Ethan L. Cooper, 31, SR 331, Tippecanoe. Cooper was traveling east on Anglin Road when his vehicle left the roadway and hit multiple wooden posts. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
- 11:10 p.m. Thursday, July 28, North Syracuse Webster Road, south of East CR 1200N, Syracuse. Driver: Thomas A. Sterling, 36, North CR 400E, Warsaw. Sterling was traveling south on North Syracuse Webster Road when his vehicle left the roadway and rolled over, hitting multiple trees in a woodline. Sterling was unsure how many times his vehicle rolled over. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
- 7:40 a.m. Thursday, July 28, 7344 S. SR 15, Claypool. Driver: Blake C. Carle, 23, Pennsylvania Avenue 9, Marietta, Ohio. Carle was backing his vehicle from a parking space when he hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
Mentone
Officers with the Mentone Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 6:15 a.m. Friday, July 29, South SR 19, south of SR 19, Mentone. Driver: Thomas J. Bauters, 31, 4B Road, Plymouth. Bauters was traveling south on SR 19 when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $10,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 3:49 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, South SR 15, south of East Prairie Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Diane R. Hostetler, 25, West CR 450N, Etna Green; Isabella G. McClone, 19, South Kinsey Road, Claypool; and Holly N. Cox, 18, Argonne Road, Warsaw. Hostetler was traveling south on South SR 15 when she rear-ended McClone’s vehicle. This resulted in McClone’s vehicle rear-ending Cox’s. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $10,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 5:14 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1, Sweetgum Road and SR 14. Drivers: Amy L. Newton, 51, Argos; and Eric A. Green, 45, Kewanna. No further information available.
- 7:03 a.m. Monday, Aug. 1, CR 1100W and CR 250S, Kewanna. Driver: Blake A. Tolson, 30, Kewanna. Hit deer.
- 12:55 p.m. Saturday, July 30, CR 200N and CR 650E, Rochester. Driver: Alec J. Craig, 23, Rochester. Craig’s vehicle rolled over.
Marshall County
Officers with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 2:25 p.m. Saturday, July 30, US 6 and Dogwood Road, Bremen. Drivers: Drew Schramm, 28, Warsaw; and Jeremy Nusbaum, 51, Nappanee. Schramm, Nusbaum and a passenger in Nusbaum’s vehicle complained of pain and were taken to a local hospital for further assessment. Schramm failed to yield the right-of-way to traffic on US 6 and struck the passenger side of Nusbaum’s vehicle. The impact caused Nusbaum’s vehicle to go off the roadway and roll over.
