Zachary ‘Zach’ Rautenkranz
Zachary E. Rautenkranz, 36, Silver Lake, formerly of Claypool, died Thursday, July 28, 2022.
Zach was born July 16, 1986, in Warsaw, the son of Ronald J. Rautenkranz and (the late) Jackie L. (Bradley) Rautenkranz. He graduated from Warsaw Community High School with the Class of ’05 and joined the U.S. Marine Corps. spending the next 10 years proudly serving his country. On May 2, 2012, while stationed in New York, Zach married Morgan (Ousley) Rautenkranz.
He was employed as a maintenance technician at Zimmer Biomet and attended Victory Rock Church. Zach was a loving father and husband, who cherished the time he spent with his family. He was a sports fan, especially the Dallas Cowboys and the Chicago Cubs and he also enjoyed playing video games. With a love for the outdoors, Zach enjoyed hunting and fishing and riding his Harley. His adventuresome side also led him to try bull riding.
Zach is survived by his wife, Morgan and their children, Lucas and Diana. Also surviving are his father, Ronald Rautenkranz, Pierceton; his mother and father-in-law, Ladonna and Burnis Ousley, Warsaw; his sister, Alexis J. Rautenkranz, Wabash; and his aunts, uncles and cousins.
Zach was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie Rautenkranz; his sister, Diana Rautenkranz Mitchem; and his grandparents, Barbara and Dyrell “Buck” Kreis and John and Phyllis Rautenkranz.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 4, 2022, at McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, 2290 Provident Court with visitation from 10-11 a.m. Visitation also from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, at the funeral home. Interment will follow the funeral service in Graceland Cemetery, Claypool, with military honors.
