Special AWL Adoption Event Saturday At PetSmart
Staff Report
WARSAW — The Animal Welfare League of Kosciusko County has a special adoption event on Saturday, July 16.
It’s from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Warsaw’s PetSmart, 640 W. 300N. As part of National Adoption Week, PetSmart is organizing the event.
AWL Executive Director Tonya Blanchard said the League should have five dogs and 30 cats and kittens at the event. PetSmart is offering the League an adoption incentive.
Blanchard noted it’s especially important to adopt cats from the AWL as it has many on its waiting list to come into the shelter.
“We have 90-some cats on the waiting list,” she said, adding that once cats come into the shelter they can be spayed or neutered and get their shots.
If people can’t make it to the event Saturday to adopt a pet, they can come to the shelter, 1048 S. 325E, Pierceton, from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on that day as the League has been offering discounted rates this week.
