Warsaw Man Arrested On Gun Charge
Staff Report

Eddie Valentino Harmon
WARSAW — A Warsaw man was recently arrested after allegedly threatening a woman by using a gun he illegally possessed.
Eddie Valentino Harmon, 41, 7727 W. Beachwood Ave. Apartment C., Warsaw, is charged with unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon, a level 4 felony; intimidation, a level 5 felony; pointing a firearm at a person, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On July 8, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office deputy responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in Warsaw. Upon arrival at the scene, the deputy saw Harmon, who appeared to be chasing a woman. When Harmon and the woman saw the deputy, they separated and Harmon began walking away.
According to court documents, the deputy noticed Harmon had a dark object down at his right side, below his hip area. Harmon walked to the front of a vehicle in a driveway and a loud noise of a heavy object hitting the ground could be heard. Harmon then made a kicking motion and a similar noise was heard again.
Harmon, who appeared upset and agitated, walked toward the deputy while being told to stop. Harmon told the deputy he came to the residence to speak with the woman.
The woman said she did not invite Harmon to the home and initially said nothing physical had occurred.
The deputy then walked over to where Harmon had tossed the object and found a loaded firearm.
Harmon was taken into custody for illegally possessing the firearm.
The woman later contacted the deputy, saying she was scared of Harmon and felt uncomfortable speaking about him while he was at the residence. She said she saw Harmon on her residence’s front steps and that he appeared calm at the time. When she went to speak with him, Harmon gave her a look that she had never seen before.
The woman asked Harmon if he had a gun on him, and Harmon said, “You’re going to die tonight.” While the woman attempted to change the subject of the conversation, Harmon allegedly pulled the handgun out, put it against her waist, and at one point placed the firearm close to her face.
Harmon told the woman multiple times that she was going to die and also pointed the gun at her multiple times. The woman believed all of the threats occurred over a 30-minute period, during which Harmon hit her about five times.
Harmon is classified as a serious violent felon for a prior offense of dealing cocaine in Kosciusko County in June 2012.
For this case, Harmon was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on July 8.
