Three Dead In Two Separate Traffic Accidents

PLYMOUTH — Marshall County Coroner’s office investigated two separate traffic fatalities Tuesday evening, July 12. The two crashes claimed the lives of three people.
Marshall County Coroner John R. Golich was notified at 8:30 p.m. Tuesday of a crash that resulted in two fatalities. While at the scene of that crash, police were notified at 9:51 p.m. of a second fatal motor vehicle crash.
The first crash claimed the lives of the driver Kristopher M. Riddle, 31, and a passenger, Angela R. Riddle, 32, South Bend. Police report the Riddle vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on Fifth Road and crossed the Union Road intersection, going airborne and leaving the roadway. Kristopher Riddle lost control of the vehicle and struck a large tree.
Neither occupants of the vehicle were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash. The crash remains under investigation by the Marshall County Sheriff’s office and the Marshall County Coroner’s office. Polk Township Fire Department and Walkerton EMS assisted at the scene.
The second fatal crash involved a passenger car and a motorcycle on Michigan Road, near 3A Road.
Neil Holderman, 32, LaPaz, was driving his motorcycle southbound on Michigan Road when it was struck head on by a vehicle driven by Ian Nelson, 31, LaPorte. Holderman was pronounced dead at the scene by Grolich. Holderman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash investigation will continue by the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office and the coroner’s office. Indiana State Police along with an accident reconstructionist, LaPaz Fire Department, Union North EMS and Chief Deputy Coroner Les Trump, assisted in the investigation.
