WARSAW — Warsaw Community Public Library’s Board of Trustees approved a janitorial services proposal with Jack Laurie Group, Fort Wayne, during a July 11 meeting.
Library Director Ann Zydek presented two janitorial service proposals to the board, the other being from The Cleaning Company, Fort Wayne. The Cleaning Company is who WCPL had been contracted with for janitorial services.
WCPL’s Facilities Manager Bruce Hively consulted with Zydek on the proposals and emphasized the importance of having two people from a cleaning company work five days a week, with close to 40 hours of coverage.
Zydek also noted difficulties in the last eight months with getting that amount of coverage from The Cleaning Company. She said one staffer who had been cleaning on behalf of The Cleaning Company had changed jobs and said The Cleaning Company also could not promise providing two cleaners at this point in time.
Zydek recommended the board approve entering a one-year contract with Jack Laurie Group, who immediately proposed having two people on-site for cleaning.
“I think this is a good time to explore (a new option) and Jack Laurie, I’m very comfortable with the company,” said Zydek. “We really want enough hours of coverage.”
The board’s next meeting is at 4 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8.
